A Main Street Community

We are a grassroots group of volunteers that roll up their sleeves to revitalize & restore the Main Street corridor of Butler City. Butler Downtown (BDT) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit affiliated with the City of Butler and the National Main Street Center.

Vision & Mission

Believing that a vibrant downtown is vital to the health and well-being of the community, the volunteers of Butler Downtown work to revitalize, renew, and restore the Main Street of the City of Butler.

BDT encourages cooperation between business and community leaders, strives to improve the appearance of the downtown, creates and promotes events to drive foot traffic and promotes the downtown as an exciting place to live, shop and invest.

Committees

Organization

Involves creating a strong foundation for a sustainable revitalization effort, including cultivating partnerships, community involvement, and resources for the district.

Design

Supports a community’s transformation by enhancing the physical and visual assets that set the commercial district apart.

Promotions

Positions the downtown or commercial district as the center of the community and hub of economic activity, while creating a positive image that showcases a community’s unique characteristics.

Economic Revitalization

Focuses on capital, incentives, and other economic and financial tools to assist new and existing businesses, catalyze property development, and create a supportive environment for entrepreneurs and innovators that drive local economies.
